Maritime DayTripping is a small year-round outdoor adventure company located in New Brunswick. We offer kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, geocaching among our many activities.
We are looking for positive, hard-working, team-oriented individuals who would like to spend a summer working with youth.
Key Responsibilities:
· Communication with management and staff to optimize daily operations
· Decision making for the safe and profitable operation on a daily basis
· Deal with minor behavioral issues in campers.
· Develop lessons and plan for each day's teaching responsibilities.
· Teach lessons on nature and outdoor skills. Play games and show campers how to have a good time outdoors.
· Be adaptive to working other DayTripping activities, including guiding (rock climbing, cruise ship), outdoor equipment rental supervision, etc.. as assigned
Qualifications: The person who holds this job should
· Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and co-workers
· Be a leader and positive role model for appropriate behavior and decision making
· Bring adaptive problem solving methods to a fast moving, dynamic environment
· Be enthusiastic about introducing clients to an active outdoor lifestyle
· Must possess a current clean Police Record Check or be in a position to pass one
· Be comfortable working in the outdoors including working from heights (rock climbing) and in water (swimming and canoe/kayaking)
· Previous experience working with youth/appropriate soft skills
· Highly motivated and innovative, well organized, eager to take on new tasks and meet commitments
The position is paid by the hour, starting at minimum wage and increasing based upon certification and experience. Benefits include staff training including an opportunity to receive external certification in First Aid and Paddle Canada.
