I have been encouraged to author a comprehensive guidebook to the many bouldering spots in NB. I am willing to do this, but only if I can get a keen and competent assistant for this undertaking. Apply via PM by Thursday May 23. Failure to find a suitable assistant will result in the postponement of the project for at least one year.
Applicants must own or have reliable and consistent access to the following:
-Time and Energy
-A motor vehicle, valid drivers license, and gas money
-Wire Brushes, Broom, Crowbar, Pruning Shears, Saw, Protective Eye wear, Dust Mask, Work Gloves, Flagging Tape, Camera
-Recommended equipment includes: Harness, Rope, Belay device, Ascender/Gri Gri/Prussik, Handheld GPS, Shovel, Axe
Required attributes:
-Eagerness perform dirty and hard labour alone in the woods for hours on end, even when it's hot and buggy
-Ability to take initiative
-Willingness to learn
-Attention to detail
-Persistence
-Problem solving skills
-Effective communicator, especially in writing
-Inquisitive/Exploratory
-Good sense of direction
Preferred experience and skills:
-Trail building experience
-Ability to consistently and accurately grade boulder problems on a variety of rock types
Compensation:
-Hookers and Beer, provided you pay for them yourself.
Benefits:
-Chance to claim dozens of first ascents, and come up with names for some others whose names have been forgotten.
