Route on top of Astroboy

Postby Shawn B » Sat Sep 17, 2011 9:09 pm

Just did the route directly above the bolted astroboy top belay today. 3 stars. Whats the name/grade? Cory said it was 9. Onsight I felt 9+ and wouldn't have argued against 10-. Lots of great gear but challenging to prevent ledge falls and/or fall onto the belay at the first bouldery crux. May not be as hard as I think if you are a good boulderer, tall, or in shape. :) Great route. Very nice addition.
Safety third!!!

The route is called "Ka-Pow". I put it up last year. Dom also felt it was a 5.9 but I had originaly gradded the route 5.8. There are a few fun sections on the route.
I want to go to hell... there's probably lots of rock to climb there.

I should add that the name comes from the massive 5'x2'x3' column I had to push off the route. You may have noticed a scare on Waterwalk and a pretty big block stuck in the ground near the trail.
