Rocky Road bolted

Postby STeveA » Tue May 19, 2009 8:28 am

Jon and I bolted Rocky Road, 5.11c at Bald Hill on Saturday. Nice technical route at the right side of the main cliff. 50' high with 7 bolts to a 2 bolt anchor. The first bolt is a stick clip. The 'run out' section has the bolt at your feet when clipping the next bolt.

The black flies were out so the next couple of weeks may be nasty until they get their fill!

Is that at Cloud Base? I want to get out there this season and actually climb something!

Where is this cloud base you speak of?
Rocky Road is up at Bald Hill.
I just want to climb.

Official Naming Rules:

If your from Saint John = Bald Hill
from Fredericton = Cloud Base

If you have actually encountered the bear = Bear Mountain

All others must refer to it by the grid coordinates.

Ah yes, Cloud Base. Can't wait to get there again. Hopefully I don't see the bear b/c I like the name Fred'tonians use.

Not surprised there are bears there though, I've never seen so many blueberries in such tight/huge bunches... pull one handful off and it is a meal!

I dunno if there are any bears there any more. There was only the one incident, and nothing ever since.
