Ice School 2006

Learn how to ice climb, instruction and gear provided

When: Saturday and Sunday Feb 18, 19, 2006 8am – 4pm

Where: meet 8am LB Gym UNB campus leave for Hayes Falls, return hike out by dark home between 5-6:30pm

Cost: $40

Bring: Downhill ski boots/Mountaineering boots if you have them, EXTRA WARM CLOTHES (socks, gloves, mittens sweaters – fleece or wool is preferable to cotton, but not required), snacks, food, drinks

Ice school was a great success this year. A huge thank you to everyone that helped-out but to especially Rob, Matt, Richard and Pat who spent hours belaying, adjusting crampons, setting ropes etc.. all in very cold weather!

My apologies for tying up Waterfall Wall on Sunday. There were a few students who thought they were "hot-stuff" after the pleasant day we had at Hayes falls on Saturday. I took them to Waterfall wall on a day with minus 25 wind-chill to correct them of this misconception
