Tracy Falls

Postby Joe » Mon Jan 25, 2010 9:12 am

I climbed Tracys Falls, found 2.5 km east of Taylor Lake in Saint John, along a popular snowmobile trail. I haven't heard of anyone else climbing this before, but it's not really worth a special trip. It's about 12 meters tall, WI4, very layered ice giving technical climbing and poor screws. But it's sunny, sheltered, and cute. I can map it if requested.

Joe,

I would LOVE directions, map, gps, etc. It's nice to have places around SJ to go when some can't get too far from home. looks like a nice bit of ice esp. for beginners such as myself.

Drive to the end of Taylor Lake Road, and follow the snowmobile trail east for 1.5 km. You'll pass over 2 small brooks. At the 2nd one, follow it north for ~100 meters to the falls. There is usually a trail to it. To decend, there is a decent gully on skiers right.
