The geographical location is known as Bald Hill, which is the working name currently, despite lack of originality.

yah, that DOES seem a little too similar to 'Bald Peak'... perhaps you guys should come up with a more original name :P

how about 'Peck and the Adamsons' Most Excellent Trad and Sport Climbing Wall(s)'?

or maybe something more succinct.

How about "'Peck and the Adamsons' Formerly Top Secret Most Excellent Trad and Sport Climbing Wall(s) Near Bald Peak'?"

FYI:
A quick search of the geographic database at work has revealed that NB has at least 8 landforms known as "Bald hill/peak/mountain". There are also at least 6 places named "Red Rock mountain/ledge/ridge. Just goes to show you that NB'ers don't score highly w.r.t. creativity. :? Perhaps using accepted local names isn't the best idea?

and two lakes called 'grand lake'...

and my point is made... i think peck/adamsons should put some serious thought into a more appropriate moniker that we can all use without confusion.

how about 'Receding Treeline Peak'? haha

I'm sure Peter would vote for Bear Mountain.

Or Lister and Simpson would vote for 'Bare Mountain'..... since that is their favorite way to climb. ;)

so jones rodney and i made it out to the cliff today. unfortunately it was too wet but i have to say the lower tier really looks sweet. can't wait to get on those lines. i see other lines w/o bolts that really need to be developed but wasn't really sure what was 'claimed' or not, so didn't do anything about it. can't say the middle tier really appeals to me much tho, but i'm sure there are some fun climbs.

as far as a name goes, i think we should go with 'Cloud Base' since this is apparently what the hang gliders are calling the place... 'cloud base express'... fly hard land soft. they were there first and already named the place really. i kind of like the name too...

Cloud Base sounds cool!
(and it has some history, can't be confused with other places, and all that logical stuff)
